Kurt Stokbro Joins Magnolia Quantum Sensing

2026-06-18

We are very excited to officially welcome Kurt Stokbro as business advisor and first investor in Magnolia Quantum Sensing. Kurt brings decades of experience in deep-tech innovation, commercialization, company building, and strategic leadership. As we move from breakthrough technology towards products with real-world impact, this expertise will be invaluable.

Upon joining, Kurt states:

"I rarely see a technology that combines deep scientific innovation with such a clear commercial opportunity. Magnolia's quantum sensing platform was born from a bold vision: using optical quantum sensors to solve one of the fundamental limitations of MRI.

After more than a decade of research at the Niels Bohr Institute and close collaboration with leading MRI experts, the team has developed a unique quantum sensing technology with the potential to transform medical imaging and significantly improve the efficiency and accessibility of MRI.

I am excited to support the team on their journey to bring this innovation from the lab into hospitals around the world."

With Kurt on board, we now have a very strong team – and we're ready for an exciting second half of 2026. A warm welcome to Kurt – we look forward to working with you!

Spinning Out of the Niels Bohr Institute and the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance

2026-01-19

We are really excited to announce the launch of Magnolia Quantum Sensing ApS, a spin-out company born from cutting-edge research at the Niels Bohr Institute and the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance.

Our journey began with a shared vision: to transform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) through novel quantum sensing technology. After years of research and development, we established Magnolia Quantum Sensing in late 2025 to bring this vision to life.

Our mission is simple yet ambitious:
To make MRI more precise, accessible, and powerful by leveraging EXAAQ sensing.

Why does this matter? MRI is one of the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine, but current systems face limitations in sensitivity, speed, and cost. Our optical magnetometer technology promises to overcome these challenges, enabling new possibilities for healthcare and research.

Stay tuned – and join us on this exciting journey toward the future of medical imaging.
